Elliott Slaughter (张海诚) is a Staff Scientist in the Computer Science Research Department at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Stanford University under the advisorship of Alex Aiken. He is a recipient of the IEEE-CS TCHPC Early Career Researcher Award for Excellence in High Performance Computing. His research interests span programming languages, compilers, parallel computing, and high-performance computing. One of his current projects is Legion, a forward-looking programming system for writing parallel, distributed programs. In his other time, he writes The Exander Project, an epic science fiction series set in a distant future universe.
